Get to know us

Edgerton, Wisconsin is a community rooted in tobacco and growing with greatness. We have grown leaps and bounds since the first commercial tobacco production in Wisconsin started here in 1854. Today, former tobacco warehouses have been reinvigorated into housing and storefronts in our beautiful downtown and we celebrate community each year during Tobacco Heritage Days.

We’ve grown to be known as a city of festivals, hosting Tobacco Days, Country Edge + Chilimania weekend, the Rock River Thresheree, the Snowflake Craft Fair, and more. We celebrate the arts by hosting dozens of local, state, and national artists each year at the Edgerton Performing Arts Center. Step back in time with us when you visit the childhood home of “Rascal” author Sterling North and the Albion Museum.

Explore the sparkling Lake Koshkonong, where every day is a party. Boaters, kayakers, swimmers, and nature lovers flock to the area to enjoy lake life on the Kosh, which is lined with restaurants and campgrounds that host good times for all.

Golf is the name of the game in Albion, where you can putt, eat, and enjoy a relaxing overnight stay at Coachman’s Golf Resort. Grab your kayak and launch yourself down the Yahara River during a visit to Fulton.

Edgerton is located in southern Wisconsin near Interstate 90/39 between Janesville and Madison. The city is shared by both Dane and Rock counties.
