People from all over the world come to tour the beautifully restored childhood home of Sterling North, a world renowned author. He wrote a book named “Rascal” that tells about his boyhood in the Edgerton area. The story of “Rascal” recieved international fame with the inspired Japanese animated series, Araiguma Rasukaru. The home has been restored to its 1918 setting and visitors get to step back in time, as well as stepping into the setting of the story. Two of his books (“Rascal” and “So Dear to My Heart”) were also were adapted to films by Walt Disney. The house is listed as both a state and national historic site. Guided group and self-guided individual tours of North’s home are offered Sundays May through October. Also visit their gift shop, which features books, clothing and collectibles.
