The story of Rascal recieved international fame with the inspired Japanese animated series\, Araiguma Rasukaru. The home has been restored to its 1918 setting and visitors get to step back in time\, as well as stepping into the setting of the story. Two of his books (Rascal and So Dear to My Heart) were also were adapted to films by Walt Disney. The house is listed as both a state and national historic site. Guided group and self-guided individual tours of North’s home are offered Sundays May through October. Also visit their gift shop\, which features books\, clothing and collectibles.

Activities will take place at each stop including tours\, live music\, crafts\, special displays\, and a picnic lunch. This is a free event that will be fun for all ages. Registration is required and begins June 15. Unable to take the bus or have time conflicts? Each site will offer special hours for “Self Guided” visits that day as well.
