DESCRIPTION:This peaceful night hike is led by naturalist David Bendlin. These excursions are designed to be tranquil and take place in a more primitive setting. Wander through the woods and listen for the calls of owls\, which are often heard during this time of year. The serene natural surroundings provide a wonderful opportunity to connect with the winter landscape and its nocturnal inhabitants. This hike is limited to 25 participants and registration is required. All attendees must dress appropriately for the current weather conditions. Hikers should be prepared for unmarked trails\, which may present additional challenges. Please note: dogs are not allowed on the trails.

SUMMARY:Leprechauns on the Loose
DESCRIPTION:Leprechauns are looking for gold in six Rock County parks and trails: Beckman Mill Park\, Carver-Roehl Park\, Gibbs Lake Park\, Magnolia Bluff Park\, Rock River Heritage Park\, and the Peace Trail. Every park and trail mentioned will feature a leprechaun searching for the elusive pot of gold. But here’s the twist: only one lucky park will have the treasure! Each leprechaun will let you know if the pot of gold is concealed within that park. Capture a leprechaun and/or the rainbow and pot of gold in a photo or selfie between March 4 and March 18 and email to parks@co.rock.wi.us or send to Rock County Parks via Facebook Messenger to be eligible for prizes.  Five winners will be selected from all entries: one for the most creative submission\, one for a dog-themed entry\, one for finding all six leprechauns and the pot of gold\, and two random winners.  The leprechauns and pot of gold will not be hidden and will be highly visible from the trails. Please do not disturb the leprechauns or pot of gold. Clues for the leprechaun’s location in each park will be posted on Facebook starting March 4. All prize baskets are generously provided by The Friends of Carver-Roehl Park.
