Sterling North Film Festival
May 15, 2022 @ 2:00 pm

Sterling North, one of America’s great novelists, was an Edgerton native who lived from 1906 to 1974 and wrote classics such as “So Dear to My Heart,” “The Wolfling,” and the autobiographical “Rascal” which details North’s life raising a raccoon, the titular character. “Rascal” and “So Dear to My Heart” both were adapted to films by Walt Disney. Many Japanese people grew up watching the animated cartoon of Rascal, which originated in 1977. The cartoon series was as popular as Mickey Mouse in the United States. Following the film festival with Japanese animations in the barn at the Sterling North Home/Museum, there will be a children’s craft activity, and you can get your picture taken with Rascal. House tours are $5 for adults, $3 for students; children under 5 are free.
