Though people are told ergonomics is about tools and tasks, the science really focuses on you and how your body works best. This talk explores naturally better ways to use your hands, and how well-fitting tools support hand safety, efficiency, and trouble-free work. Presenter Tom McCoy is an Occupational Medicine physician and Ergonomics trainer who makes sense of repetitive strain and ergonomic science for the general public. Recent contributions to this effort include a recent article for the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society entitled The Hidden Cost of Care: Addressing Repetitive Strain Injuries in Medical Professionals, and launching a YouTube series entitled Repetitive Strain Made Easy to Understand.
